How to unsubscribe from any premium rate service on a Safaricom line…

Have you ever found yourself trapped in a premium service that you didn’t know how you signed up to? Or you even are sure you didn’t subscribe but there your airtime is being deducted regularly (sometimes in huge chunks)? Well there is a D.I.Y. solution on Safaricom:

  • On pre-paid, dial *100# and on post-paid, dial *200#.
  • You will get a list of options as seen above, select Premium Rate Services.
  • Inside Premium Services, select My Subscriptions.
  • This will list all the premium services you are subscribed to.
  • You have an option to unsubscribe to each or all of them.


  1. The selfcare surport is incomplete. I.e. To unsubscibe from premium services the option is removed/disabled. Customer care line is always unanswered. Responsible person do something about this.

  2. please unsubscribe for me the 22977 safaricom video store. also please help me check out my line. if I recharge, my credit gets lost if left unused for some time,around 3-4 hours .I’ll b glad if you help me.thanks

  3. By calling *100# doesn’t bring the option for my premium services please assist distress customer

  4. Am unable to unsubscribe from 22977 which I have have by mistake. *100# is not giving the premium rate option. Pls help! My number is 0721463494.
